Well we made it safe and sound despite numerous glitches - like the cab not turning up at home and having to get a lift from a friend to the airport! Fortunately most of the problems were little and we are glad to be in beautiful Budapest. Just coming in from the airport we have seen a wonderful mix of the old and new in this city's buildings. When they replace old with new they seem to be very good at designing new buildings that complement the heritage ones around them.

Tomorrow we join the boat and then do a walking tour of the city on Saturday. We are having trouble with our netpad so we might not be able to post photos until we sort that out. Fingers crossed!
